16 19 020 Removing and installing/replacing active reservoir

IMPORTANT: Ensure adequate ventilation in the workbay!
Avoid skin contact (wear gloves)!
Avoid eye contact (safety goggles)!
Urea/water mixture can escape when components carrying urea/water mixture are released. Have a collecting vessel ready.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
IMPORTANT: Maintain conditions of absolute cleanliness.
Connections and covers of lines carrying urea/water mixture must be cleaned thoroughly with water after each removal or before each installation!
Thoroughly clean the working area with water after repair work.
Use fluff-free cloths for cleaning .
Close connections and lines!
Thoroughly clean special tool with water after each use.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, schematic diagram shows bumper panel removed.

Release mount (1).

Release plastic nuts (2).

Installation note: 

Check plastic nuts, replace if necessary.

Tightening torque: 16 19 2AZ .

Swing out bracket (3) with brake air duct (4).

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Turn plug connection (2) a 1/4 turn and remove.

Disconnect repumping line from passive reservoir (1).

Disconnect metering line (2).

Installation note: 

Check latch mechanism of lines (1 and 2) by pulling.

Disconnect filler line (1) and tank ventilation line (2).

Installation note: 

Check latch mechanism of lines (1 and 2) by pulling.

Unclip lines from bracket (3).

Release screws (1).

Installation note: 

Tightening torque: 16 19 3AZ .

Secure active reservoir (1) against falling off.

Unscrew nuts (2).

Installation note: 

Tightening torque: 16 19 4AZ .

Remove active reservoir (1) and feed out filler line.

Replacement: 

Modify EVALUATION UNIT .

Modify POWER SWITCH .

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque: 16 19 10AZ .

Unscrew holder (2).

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! Reinstall washers under holder (2) on tank side without fail.

Modify SCR DELIVERY MODULE .

Modify wiring harness.

Modify insulation.

Modify fuel filler neck breather pipe.

Installation note: 

Replace hose clamp.

Tightening torque: 16 19 9AZ .
