11 28 010 Removing and installing/replacing drive belt for alternator (N47D20 K/U/O/T 1)

Special tools required: 

• 11 3 340

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove intake silencer housing  . See 13 71 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING (N47 D16/20 K/U/O/T 1) or 13 71 000 REMOVING AND REFITTING/REPLACING INTAKE FILTER HOUSING (N47 D20 O 1 WITH SCR) .
• Remove clean air pipe  . See 13 71 150 REMOVING CLEAN AIR PIPE (N47 D16/20 K/U/O/T 1) or 13 71 150 REMOVING CLEAN AIR PIPE (N47 D20 O 1 WITH SCR) .
• REMOVE ACOUSTIC COVER AT FRONT .

Check drive belt for coolant and oil residues, replace if necessary.

Increase preload on tensioning pulley (1) with tool (2) until special tool can be positioned on tensioning pulley 11 3 340 (1).

Preload belt tensioner (1).

Both bore holes, see arrow, must be flush.

Remove drive belt.

Assemble engine.
