51 21 125 Removing and installing/replacing support for left or right outer door handle with lock barrel

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Detach Bowden cable (1) at bottom (A) and top (B) from door lock (3).

Installation note: 

Sealing (2) must be correctly fitted on Bowden cable (1).

Bowden cable (1) must be correctly engaged in fixtures (A and B) on door lock (3).

Make sure Bowden cable (1) is in correct position!

An incorrectly routed Bowden cable can cause door locking system malfunctions.

Unclip locking rod (1).

IMPORTANT: Do not damage door lock seal when removing.

Release screws (1).

Disengage door lock (1) at locking pin (2).

Carefully remove door lock (1) and set down carefully in door interior.

Installation note: 

Make sure locking pin (2) is correctly seated in mount (3).

Pry out outside of interior weather strip (1).

Release retaining screw (1).

Release screw (4) and take out protective cap (2).

Feed out support.

Installation note: 

Align lock barrel and Align dummy plugs (2) with aid of retaining screw(1).

Rubber seal (3) must be correctly seated on lock barrel or dummy plug (2).

Replacement 

Feed Bowden cable (1) out of carrier (2).

Remove LOCK BARREL .

Installation note: 

Installation note: 

IMPORTANT: To tension door lock (1), it is only permitted to turn knurled screw (2) by a further 1 to 1.5 turns (max.) (risk of damage).
Door lock seal must rest uniformly on inner door panel (water ingress).
