51 13 402 Removing and installing/replacing handle strip

Necessary preliminary tasks

REMOVING REAR-END TRIM SECTION:
Remove TRIM ON REAR LID .
Remove PANEL FOR REAR LID .

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 13 2AZ .

Slacken nut (1).

Tightening torque 51 13 3AZ .

Detach handle strip (1) in direction of arrow from tailgate.

Disconnect plugs (3) and (4).

Check clips (2) for any damages. replacing if necessary.

IMPORTANT: If clip mountings (1) are removed during further operations (e.g. painting), always replace these mounting to ensure watertightness.
