41 62 030 Adjusting Upper Rear Lid Section

IMPORTANT: Do not damage adjoining body components.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Observe 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

NOTE: The rear lid upper section must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove REAR SPOILER .

Slacken screws (1) on rear lid hinge to rear lid until such stage that rear lid can still be moved.

Adjust rear lid/tailgate.

Tightening torque 41 62 1AZ .

When rear lid upper section is closed, lock striker must not make contact with or brush against rear lid lock.

Height adjustment of rear lid to roof:

Slacken screws (2) and adjust rear lid.

Tightening torque 41 62 3AZ .

Check read lid wedge (1) on left and right for damage, replace if necessary.

Check rear lid stop (1) on body on left and right for damage, replace if necessary.

If necessary, adjust rear lid stop (1) to wedge.

Loosen screw (2).

Open tailgate upper section and loosen nuts (3).

Tightening torque 41 62 9AZ .

To adjust the tailgate upper section, turn screw (2) at tailgate stop (1).
