41 62 033 Adjusting Rear Lid Lower Section

CAUTION: Do not damage adjoining body parts.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Observe 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

NOTE: The rear lid lower section must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.

Raise trim (1).

Lateral adjustment to rear cut-out: 

Slacken screws (1) on rear lid hinge for rear lid lower section until such point that the rear lid lower section can still just be moved.

Adjust rear lid lower section laterally.

Tightening torque 41 62 6AZ .

When rear lid lower section is closed, lock strikers must not make contact with or brush against rear lid locks.

Height adjustment with respect to rear lid upper section: 

Slacken screws (1) and (2) on rear lid hinge until such stage that rear lid hinge can still be moved.

Tightening torque 41 62 7AZ .

Adjust rear lid lower section vertically.

Adjust REAR LID LOCK .

After installation
