51 11 156 Removing and installing (replacing) front bumper panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Raise SIDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID GASKET

Release all screws at top and bottom on bumper panel (1).

NOTE: The wheel was removed for clarity.

Change steering angle to suit current the current job item.

Release bolt (1) on wheel arch panel. Tilt wheel arch panel sideways.

Release left and right bolts (2) located behind trim.

Tightening torque 51 11 11AZ .

IMPORTANT: Bumper panel must not be pulled out sideways (risk of damage).

Remove bumper panel straight towards front with aid of a 2nd person.

If necessary, disconnect additional plug-in contacts and feed out cable.

Installation note:

Observe BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

On version with "Night Vision with Dynamic Light" the headlights must be ADJUSTED for target illumination.

Replacement (depending on version):

Modify NIGHT VISION CAMERA .
Modify PDC ultrasonic sensors. See FRONT LEFT ULTRASONIC SENSOR , FRONT RIGHT ULTRASONIC SENSOR , FRONT CENTER LEFT ULTRASONIC SENSOR , FRONT, CENTRE RIGHT ULTRASONIC SENSOR , and FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR .
Modify fog lights. See LEFT FOG LAMP and RIGHT FOG LAMP .
Modify ornamental grille. See ORNAMENTAL GRILLE FOR BUMPER PANEL (SIDE) and TRIM GRILLE FOR BUMPER TRIM (CENTER) .
Modify RADIATOR GRILLE
