NOTE:

The following information is provided in accordance with the EU Regulation 2019/621 and is only used for informational purposes regarding the regular technical inspection of vehicles. The necessary maintenance information can generally be found in the corresponding Maintenance Table or in the description of the work to be performed in the "Maintenance" infomedia.

1. BRAKE SYSTEM
1.1 Mechanical condition and function

1.2 Service brake: performance and efficiency
1.2.1 Performance Operate the brakes on a brake test stand; if that is not possible, gradually apply the brakes until the maximum amount of braking force is applied during a road test Brake System Overview. Refer to Brake Inspection .
1.3 Auxiliary brake (emergency brake): performance and efficiency (if it is a separate system)
1.3.1 Performance Use the testing procedure described under 1.2.1 for an auxiliary braking system that is separate from the service brake system. The auxiliary braking system is designed as a part of the service brake system and shares components and operating equipment with it. This is indicated by two separate braking circuits, among other things.
1.4 Parking brake: performance and efficiency
1.4.1 Performance Checking brake operation with the vehicle on a brake test stand Brake system. Refer to PARKING BRAKE, CHECKING .
1.6 Anti-lock braking system (ABS) Visually inspect and check the warning device and/or use the electronic vehicle interface The status of the system can be determined via its indicator lamp. When switching on the ignition, the indicator lamp switches on and will turn off once the system control module reports a status indicating there are no faults. If this does not happen, the indicator lamp will stay on.
1.7 Electronic Braking System (EBS) Visually inspect and check the warning device and/or use the electronic vehicle interface The following Audi models have an Electronic Braking System (EBS):

2. STEERING
2.1 Mechanical condition
2.6 Electronic Power Steering (EPS) Visually inspect and check the consistency between the steering wheel angle and the angle of the wheels when switching the engine on/off, and/or use the electronic vehicle interface If necessary, run diagnostics using a suitable Vehicle Diagnostic Tester, such as "ODIS". Refer to Electronic Vehicle Interface: . For additional information about the steering system, refer to Steering System, Checking .
4. LAMPS, REFLECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND ELECTRONIC SYSTEM
4.1.1 Condition and function Visual inspection and operation Category of the light source Follow the following document path:

4.1.2 Orientation Determine the horizontal adjustment of each low beam headlamp using a headlamp adjusting unit or using the electronic vehicle interface
  • Make sure to follow the respective notes in Maintenance.
  • Orientation of the low beams in [%] for the vertical angle and direction
  • To determine the horizontal adjustment using the electronic vehicle interface, information about the headlamp adjustment operation is required in order to make it possible to check the adjustment

4.1.3 Switching Visually inspect and operate, or use the electronic vehicle interface Is not supported by the diagnostic. Perform a visual inspection via the light switch.
4.1.5 Level control system equipment (where mandatory)   All Audi vehicles (except Audi R8, which according to UN ECE R48 it is not required) are equipped with a level control system for headlamp range control purposes. A thumbwheel located next to the light operating mechanism indicates a level control system that can be operated manually.
4.1.6 Headlamp washer system (where mandatory) Visually inspect and operate (if possible) Identify the headlamp washer system Follow the following document path:

4.2 Position and tail lamps, side marker lamps, contour lamps and daytime running lamps

5. AXLES, WHEELS, TIRES AND SUSPENSION
5.1 Axles
5.1.1 Axles Visually inspect while the vehicle is over an inspection pit or is on a hoist. Using wheel play detectors is allowed and is recommended for vehicles with a maximum weight of over 3.5 tons. Follow the following document path:

5.2.2 Wheels Visually inspect both sides of each wheel while the vehicle is over an inspection pit or is on a hoist Wheel size and measurement/wheel offset:

6. CHASSIS AND COMPONENTS SECURED ON IT
6.1 Chassis or frame and components secured on them

7. OTHER EQUIPMENT
7.1 Seat belts/seat belt latches and restraint systems (for vehicle class L:L6/L7)

7.12 Electronic Stability Control (ESC)/Electronic Stability Program (ESP), if installed/specified) Visual inspection and/or use of the electronic vehicle interface The status of the system can be determined via its indicator lamp. If this does not occur the indicator lamp remains on.
8. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
8.1 Noise
8.1.1 Noise insulation system Subjective evaluation (use a sound level meter to check the noise emitted by a stationary vehicle if the inspector finds that the noise level may be borderline) Basic noise in [dB(A) at RPM] write to the authorized importer under the subject "PTI-621 Audi". 8.2 Exhaust emissions
8.2.1 Positive ignition engine emissions
8.2.1.1 Exhaust emissions treatment system General description of exhaust emissions treatment system; particulate filter installed [Y/N] WLTP Emission licenses (EU6 AG and higher) in EU28 of the particulate filters:
  • All gasoline engines are equipped with a gasoline particulate filter
  • All diesel engines are equipped with a diesel particulate filter
  • All CNG engines are not equipped with particulate filters
8.2.1.2 Gaseous emissions For vehicles up to emission classes Euro 5 and Euro V(1): measure using an exhaust gas analyzer in accordance with the requirements(1), or read the OBD. Exhaust pipe testing is the default testing method for checking exhaust emissions. On the basis of an assessment of equivalence, and by taking into account the relevant type-approval legislation, Member States may authorize the use of OBD in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and other requirements. - For vehicles from emission classes Euro 6 and Euro VI (2): measure using an exhaust gas analyzer in accordance with the requirements(1), or read the OBD in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and other requirements(1). No measurements are taken for two-stroke engines. Emission levels, if given by the manufacturer Follow the following document path:

8.2.2 Compression ignition engine emissions

8.2.2.2 Exhaust gas opacity For vehicles up to emission classes Euro 5 and Euro V (3): exhaust gas opacity to be measured during free acceleration (no load from idle up to cut-off speed) with gearshift lever in neutral and clutch engaged, or read OBD. Exhaust pipe testing is the default testing method for checking exhaust emissions. The member states can allow the use of the on-board diagnostic system on the basic principles of an equivalence assessment, provided that the recommendations of the vehicle manufacturer and other requirements are taken into account. For vehicles from emission classes Euro 6 and Euro VI (4): exhaust gas opacity to be measured during free acceleration (no load from idle up to cut-off speed) with the gearshift lever in neutral and clutch engaged, or read OBD in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and other requirements(1). For exhaust pipe emissions testing:
  • Engine preconditioning requirements such as minimum oil/water temperature in [°C] and procedures to bring the engine to Type II testing mode
  • k-value specified on the manufacturer's plate on the vehicle (type II emission test result)
  • Cut off engine speed at Type II tests
  • Engine speed limiter for acceleration without load [Y/N]
  • Description of deactivation for the engine speed limiter to perform a free acceleration test.

Vehicle preconditioning: 1. Vehicles may be tested without preconditioning. For safety reasons, the engine should be at operating temperature and in satisfactory mechanical condition. 2. Preconditioning requirements: i) The engine has reached operating temperature; for instance, the engine oil temperature measured by a probe in the oil level dipstick tube is at least 80 °C (176 °F) or is at the normal operating temperature as long as it is lower, or the engine block temperature measured using infrared radiation is at least an equivalent temperature. If this measurement cannot be performed due to the vehicle configuration, the establishment of the engine's normal operating temperature may be made by other means, for example by the operation of the engine cooling fan. (ii) The exhaust system is purged by at least three free acceleration cycles (no load from idle up to cut-off speed) or by an equivalent method. For OBD: permitted DTCs at OBD scan {codes for NOx group 3000 for light duty commercial vehicles} - Connection and communication protocol (standard, power supply voltage, location) - List of DTCs (vehicle classes A, B1 and B2 currently for heavy duty commercial vehicles only)
  • Vehicles with an inspection date from 01/01/2018 only get an exhaust pipe check
