Selector Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications:

Refer to OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM .
Refer to Figure.

NOTE:

Replace the lock washers.

Lightly lubricate the ball socket on the selector lever cable with Polycarbamide GreaseG 052 142 A2 before installing.

Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

-- Adjust the selector lever cable, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .

-- Install the heat shield, refer to OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Install tunnel crossmember, refer to OVERVIEW - SUBFRAME MOUNT .

-- Check the selector mechanism, refer to GEARSHIFT MECHANISM, CHECKING .

-- Align the exhaust system free of tension, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION for CAEB, CPMB and CPMA, EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION for CPNB or EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION for CTUC and CTUD. .

-- Install the noise insulation, refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Install the front ashtray, refer to FRONT ASHTRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the selector lever handle, refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
