Overview - Selector Mechanism

There is a risk of injury and accident from accidentally engaging a gear when the engine is running.

Before work is done with the engine running, move the selector lever into "P" and press the parking brake button to engage the electromechanical parking brake.

Before disassembling the selector mechanism, perform check, refer to GEARSHIFT MECHANISM, CHECKING .

Selector Lever Handle

- Tightening specification: 10 Nm

Seal
Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587-

Selector Mechanism Function Unit
- Can only be replaced as a unit

Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-
- Removing and installing, refer to Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Transmission Park Selector Switch -F305-
- Consists of two reed contacts on the circuit board on the Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-.
- Can only be replaced together with the Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-, refer to Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Noise Insulation
- Not on all vehicles; for the correct allocation, refer to parts
Lock Washers
- For securing the noise insulation to the shift mechanism function unit
- Quantity: 4
- Replacing
Retaining Clip
- Secure the selector lever cable to the selector mechanism function unit
O-Ring
- Replacing

- Do not bend
