Front Seat, Removing And Installing, Power: Removing

Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Remove the front belt end fitting. Refer to FRONT BELT END FITTING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Move the seat into its service position. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOVING INTO SERVICE POSITION .

-- Remove the front bolts -1- (quantity 2) from the console -4-.

-- Operate seat forward/back adjuster and move the seat -2- as far forward as possible.

-- Remove the rear bolts -1- (quantity 2) from the bracket -3-.

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to Disconnecting .

WARNING:

Before handling airbag components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the relevant person must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Disconnect the connectors at the connector station in the floor panel. Refer to CONNECTORS, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Connect the Airbag Lockout AdapterVAS6281. Refer to AIRBAG ADAPTER, CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING .

-- Lift the front seat with a second technician and remove it from the vehicle.
