Dual Mass Flywheel And Sealing Flange, Transmission Side Overview

NOTE:
For assembly work, secure the engine on the engine and transmission holder. Refer to ENGINE, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER .
Servicing clutch, refer to Description and Operation .
- Bolt
- Replace
- 60 Nm plus an additional 90° turn
- Dual Mass Flywheel
- Removing and installing, refer to DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL
- Assembly is only possible in one position because of the offset holes
- Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 2
- Intermediate Plate
- Must be seated on the alignment pins
- Do not damage or bend
- Is hooked in at sealing flange, refer to Fig 3
- Cylinder Block
- Fitting Pin
- Sealing Flange, Transmission Side
- With seal
- Replace completely, refer to TRANSMISSION SIDE SEALING FLANGE
- Do not lubricate or oil the sealing ring lip
- Use the guide sleeve supplied for installing
- Remove the guide sleeve only after installing the sealing flange onto the crankshaft journal
-- Tighten sealing flange bolts on the transmission side in 3 stages as follows:
-- Install the bolts -1 through 8- by hand.
-- Then tighten the bolts -1 through 6- in a diagonal sequence in stages to 15 Nm.
-- Tight the bolts -7- and -8- to 15 Nm.
-- Hook in intermediate plate at sealing flange and push it onto the alignment sleeves -arrows-.
