Reverse Lockout Solenoid Disassembly/Reassembly

- Remove the intake air duct (see step 2 on REMOVAL ).
- Remove the air cleaner housing (see AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Carefully remove the shift cables and the cable bracket together to avoid bending the shift cables (see step 11 on TRANSMISSION INSTALLATION ).
- Disconnect the reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector (A).
- Remove the reverse lockout solenoid (B).
- Remove the pin (A), the select lock return spring (C), and select lock cam B.
- Install the components of the reverse lockout solenoid in the reverse order of removal.
- Clean any dirt and oil from the sealing surface.
- Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08718-0003 evenly to the shift arm cover mating surface of the reverse lockout solenoid. Install the component within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket.NOTE: If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply new liquid gasket.
- Install the reverse lockout solenoid (A).
- Connect the reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector (B).
- Carefully install the shift cables and the cable bracket together to avoid bending the shift cables (see step 55 on TRANSMISSION DISASSEMBLY ).
- Install the air cleaner housing (see AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Install the intake air duct (see step 9 on EXHAUST PIPE AND MUFFLER REPLACEMENT ).
