Display
This diagnosis does additional checks on the communication bus between the audio-navigation unit and the navigation display. This test also checks the internal electronic functions.
- When the connection is NG, first check for loose terminals at the audio-navigation unit and the navigation display unit connections. Next check for an open or short in the communication line between the audio-navigation unit and the navigation display unit. If the line has an open or short, replace the affected shielded harness.
- The version represents the software version in the display.
Radio
This diagnostic screen checks the audio-navigation unit internal radio tuner and CD/DVD player. If connection is NG, replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
GPS
This diagnosis tests the GPS antenna connection and the GPS receiver condition.
- In the GPS menu, if the Antenna indicates NG, then check the entire GPS antenna wire from the audio-navigation unit to the GPS antenna. If the wire is crushed or damaged, substitute a known-good GPS antenna (see GPS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
). If this diagnosis reads OK, replace the original GPS antenna (see GPS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
).
If the diagnosis still reads NG (Antenna), then replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Select Information to see the GPS satellite details.
Aircon
This diagnosis tests the climate bus connection (NAVI-SI and NAVI-SO) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit. Make sure the engine is running for this test.
When the connection appears NG, go to Navigation cannot control HVAC by voice command troubleshooting (see NAVIGATION CANNOT CONTROL HVAC BY VOICE COMMAND ).
HFL
This checks the 4 wire communication bus between the HandsFreeLink™ control unit and the audio-navigation unit.
When connection is shown with NG, check the HFL function and go to appropriate troubleshooting in HandsFreeLink™ System.
HDD
This screen shows the HDD mount error and the temperature.
The screen shows a list of total and free capacities of each partition.
Select the Error History will display the error history that occurred while reading or writing the data to HDD.
- When the HDD Status is OK, the connection between the HDD pins and the audio-navigation unit are good.
- When the HDD Status is NG*, there is a connection problem between the HDD pins and the audio-navigation unit.
* When the HDD Status is NG, the screen does not show the free and total capacities of each partition, however, it shows the temperature.
DVD Mech
Do this procedure only when directed by the factory or other Honda service information (like a service bulletin).
This diagnostic screen checks the audio-navigation unit internal DVD player mechanism.
- The screen shows DVD Mech version. When the audio-navigation unit can read the version, the screen shows Connection OK. If the version number cannot be read, the screen shows the connection as NG.
- Inserting the disc that contains a DVD Mech update program allows you to select Download. Otherwise it is grayed out.
- To update the DVD Mech, you must insert the update disc before selecting this screen. If you insert the update disc when you are on this screen, the DownLoad button stays grayed out. If this happens, exit the DVD Mech screen and start the procedure again.
Hard Key
This diagnosis tests the interface dial, the buttons that surround it, the audio remote switch, and the HFL-navigation voice control switch. For this model, the interface dial and buttons use the serial bus for communications.
To complete the test, touch each button on the vehicle's control panel, and move the interface dial to each indicated position. As each function is tested, the corresponding button on the display should highlight.
To exit, push in and hold the interface dial.

Yaw Sensor
This screen gives a quick test of the yaw rate sensor functionality based on the two voltages Sensor and Offset. For more information see the Yaw Rate Diagnosis.
ECU Info
This screen looks for problems in the audio-navigation unit. When you initiate this diagnosis, the audio-navigation unit may freeze or delay up to a minute while the diagnosis runs.
- D-RAM is NG, replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Program Flash: Displays the version of the navigation software in memory.
- Program on HDD: If displayed, this value represents the version of the navigation software on the audio-navigation unit HDD.
- Program on DVD: If displayed, this value represents the version of the navigation software on the audio-navigation unit DVD player.
- Serial No. should be the same as the serial number found on the upper side of the audio-navigation unit. You need this number to obtain the security code from the Interactive Network (iN) system.
- DB Version: Displays the version of the database on the audio-navigation unit HDD.
- HDD Version: Display the version of the audio-navigation unit HDD.
- D-RAM check is for factory use only.
Rear Camera
This test checks whether the rearview camera is connected to the navigation display unit.
When connection is shown NG, check the rearview camera signal line.
XM (Without AcuraLink)
This checks the GA-Net Bus line to the XM receiver.
When connection is shown with NG, check the connection between the XM receiver and the audio-navigation unit.
USB Memory Information
If the USB memory is connected to the USB port, the screen displays the USB memory size, the Product ID, Vender ID, and connection status.
Sub Display
This test checks the internal connection between the audio-navigation switch panel and the audio display. If NG is indicated, check the serial bus line between the audio-navigation switch panel and the audio-navigation unit.
