Checking the wiring and sensor
Check the wiring between pre-pressure valve connection:
- #3 and control unit #1 (#A1)
- #4 and control unit #17 (#A17)
for an open circuit as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults , a short circuit to ground as described in Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults , and a short circuit to voltage supply as described in Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .
HINT: Check the pressure build-up valve with the ignition off, the Anti-lock brake system module (ABS) disconnected and the breakout box connected. Measure the resistance between terminals #1 and #17 on the breakout box. The resistance should be approximately 3 Ω.
Do the necessary corrective action.
