Checking Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)

Disconnect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) from the VADIS station. Use it in stand alone mode and connect it to the data link connector (DLC) in the car.
Ignition on.
Go into scrolling values.
Read off engine coolant temperature (ECT).
Check the engine coolant temperature (ECT) reading is correct. Compare with the actual coolant temperature of the engine.

HINT: To obtain the engine temperature, read off engine coolant temperature (ECT) from the engine control module (ECM).

Is the temperature reading OK?

YES
