Installing the drive shaft on the wheel hub

Lubricate the drive shaft splines for the wheel hub. Use a small amount of oil.

Hold down the control arm as when removing. Align the drive shaft in the hub.

Remove the guard from the ball joint. Align the ball joint lug in the control arm.

Install a new lock nut on the ball joint. Tighten. See Summary of tightening torques for specific components .

NOTE: Counterhold the end of the ball joint while tightening so that the boot does not twist. Use a Torx wrench.

Install a new screw for the drive shaft/wheel hub. Tighten. See Summary of tightening torques for specific components .
