Front Seat Belt
Preparations
Disconnect the battery lead.

Removing the front seat belt (inertia) reels
Remove:
- the B-post panel according to Panel, B-Post, Replacing
- seat belt buckle end mounting. See Seat Belt Buckle End Mounting
- the Igniter Wire Connector
If dismantling the contact reel it is very important that the catch function on the connector is released first. Disconnection should be done in line with the attachment so as not to damage it.
NOTE:The use of tools of any kind are not advised when disconnecting due to an increased risk of damage to the connector.
The contact is securely installed to make the contact attachment durable.
WARNING:A damaged connector can cause failures in the function of the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
- screws (x 2)
- seat belt (inertia) reel with seat belt tensioner by pulling it straight up.
Remove the seat belt (inertia) reel and the seat belt tensioner by pulling the unit straight upwards and leaving the clips and fixture in place.
Installing the front seat belt (inertia) reels
Install:
- the seat belt (inertia) reel with the seat belt tensioner by pushing it down through the clip into the fixture
- screws (x 2). Tighten to 48 Nm
- the Igniter Wire Connector.
- seat belt buckle end mounting. See Seat Belt Buckle End Mounting
- the B-post panel according to Panel, B-Post, Replacing
- Check the seat belt function.
Removing the rear seat belt (inertia) reel
Remove:
- the rear seat cushion. See REAR SEATS
- the parcel shelf. See Parcel Shelf
- the connector. See Igniter Wire Connector
- the nut for the seat belt (inertia) reel
- the screw for the end mounting
- the seat belt (inertia) reel.
Installing rear seat belt (inertia) reels
Install:
- the screw for the end mounting. Tighten to 48 Nm
- the seat belt (inertia) reel nuts. Tighten to 48 Nm
- the connector. See Igniter Wire Connector
- the parcel shelf. See Parcel Shelf
- the rear seat cushion. See REAR SEATS
- the seat belt in the seat belt guide
- Then check the seat belt function.
