Remove the clamp from the inner boot (if the boot is being replaced)

Cut the boot and remove it from the shaft.

NOTE: The outer  constant velocity joint can be cleaned while assembled. Checking and cleaning, see Cleaning/checking the outer constant velocity joint .
NOTE: The inner  constant velocity joint can be cleaned while assembled  and blown clean prior to greasing. To disassemble the joint, see Clean and mark up the constant velocity joint , Separate the shaft and pull out the inner joint and Checking and inspection .

To assemble and lubricate the outer joint: 

See Install the inner ring in the bearing race , Lubricate the constant velocity joint thoroughly , Replace the snap ring , Install the new boot(s) on the drive shaft , Apply grease in the boot  and Vent the boot .
