Installing and tightening the front suspension components
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2006 Volvo S80, 2005 Volvo S80, 2004 Volvo S80, 2003 Volvo S80, and 2002 Volvo S80. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Fit the nut to the ball joint pin. Counterhold the ball joint pin while tightening so that the gaiter does not turn. Use a new nut, M12.
Tighten, see: Summary of tightening torques for specific components .
Tighten the drive shaft screw. Use a new screw. Counterhold with a screwdriver in the brake disc. Tighten in accordance with: see Summary of tightening torques for specific components . Use: 9512050 .
Fit on the left-hand side:
- the link to the anti-roll bar. Counterhold the ball joint pin while tightening so that the gaiter does not turn. Use a new lock nut. Tighten in accordance with: see Summary of tightening torques for specific components .
- the tie rod. Tighten in accordance with: see Summary of tightening torques for specific components .
Install:
- the ABS line to the bracket in the spring strut
- the wing liner with support plate and nuts.
