Summary Of Tightening Torques For Specific Components

NOTE:

Screws coated with locking fluid or sealant must be replaced with new when reinstalled.

Always use new screws and nuts  when angle tightening. Any exceptions to this rule will be indicated in the method.

Angle-tightening in tight spaces. See Screwed joint, torque/angle tightening .

Rear wheel hub in wheel bearing housing (M12)  Step 1: 20 Nm
Step 2: 45 Nm
Step 3: Angle-tighten 60°
Drive shaft in front wheel hub not XC90 (M10)  Step 1: 35 Nm
Step 2: Angle-tighten 90°
Drive shaft in front wheel hub, only XC90 (M10)  Step 1: 35 Nm
Step 2: Angle-tighten 120°
Tire pressure sensor in rim  8 Nm
Tire pressure sensor in valve.  1,4 Nm
Front wheel hub in steering arm (M12)  Step 1: 20 Nm
Step 2: 45 Nm
Step 3: Angle-tighten 60°
Wheel in hub (M14)  Step 1: 20 Nm
Step 2: 140 Nm
Anti-roll bar link in shock absorber front (M12)  90 Nm
Anti-roll bar link in anti-roll bar front (M10)  60 Nm
Anti-roll bar link to spring strut  50 Nm
Shock absorber bearing rear upper in shock absorber (M12)  60 Nm
Shock absorber bearing front upper in shock absorber (M14)  70 Nm
Shock absorber in steering arm (M14)  XC90 Step 1: 105 Nm
Step 2: Angle-tighten 75°
Shock absorber in steering arm (M14)  S60/V70/XC70/S80 Step 1: 105 Nm
Step 2: Angle-tighten 60°
Spring front, retaining nut  70 Nm
Spring strut in body  25 Nm
