Coolant Mixture Ratio
- Coolant (40%) and distilled water (60%) for freeze protection down to -25 °C (-13 °F)
- Coolant (50%) and distilled water (50%) for freeze protection down to -36 °C (-32.8 °F)
- Refer to the Parts Information for the correct coolant.
Filling:
-- Slide the coolant hose -1- at bottom on to the cooler connection and secure.
-- Connect the connector for the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -- radiator outlet on the coolant hose -1-.
-- Install the test adapter -2- (: VAS691005/5 ) on the coolant expansion tank -1-.
-- Perform the check (self-test) for the : VAS6096 and : VAS6096/2 . Refer to Cooling System Charge Kit .
-- Position the : VAS6968 so that it is higher than the coolant expansion tank -arrows- and fill it with at least 20 liters (5.3 gallons) of premixed coolant with the right mixture ratio.
-- Bleed the hose -2-.
-- For this open the valve on the : VAS6968 and the valves -A and B- until the hose -2- is filled with coolant.
-- Close the valves -A and B- by turning lever at a right angle to the flow direction.
-- Open the cap -1-.
-- Connect the Cooling System Charge Device -1- (: VAS6968 ) on the -2- (: VAS691005/5 ).
-- Connect the hose -1- of the : VAS6096/2 on the connector coupling -B- on the (: VAS6096 ).
-- Connect the : VAS6096/2 on the vehicle battery and switch on. Open the valve -B-.
-- Pay attention when using the vacuum, that the water separator -1- in the vacuum pump is not filled with coolant.
Risk of damaging the due to extracted coolant.
- Pay attention that the Electric Vacuum Pump -- does not extract coolant. If necessary stop the procedure and evacuate the coolant expansion tank. Refer to When the Water Separator in the is Filled with Coolant the Coolant Expansion Tank Must Be Extracted: .
-- Use the Electric Vacuum Pump -- vacuum for approximately five minutes.
-- The needle on the pressure gauge -arrow- must move until it is well below the green area.
-- Close the valve -B- and switch off the : VAS6096/2 .
-- Watch the pressure gauge. The needle of the pressure gauge must not move.
-- When the conditions are fulfilled the cooling system can be filled. Refer to Fill the Cooling System: .
