Cooling System Components Assembly Overview, Engine Side

  1. To expansion tank at top
  2. Upper coolant line
  3. O-ring
    • Replace
  4. Retaining clip
    • Check for secure seat
  5. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor -G62-
    • If necessary release pressure in cooling system for removing
  6. To cooler for exhaust gas recirculation
  7. Connecting piece
  8. 10 Nm
  9. To upper radiator
  10. From heat exchanger
  11. 40 Nm
  12. Distribution piece
  13. from the upper coolant hose distribution piece
  14. 15 Nm
  15. From expansion tank at bottom
  16. Front coolant line
  17. Seal
    • Replace
  18. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor (on radiator) -G83-
  19. 15 Nm
  20. To lower radiator
  21. Thermostat housing
  22. Coolant thermostat
    • Removing and installing THERMOSTAT .
    • Note installation position THERMOSTAT .
    • Checking: Heat up thermostat in water
    • Opening begins approximately 85° C
    • Ends approximately 105° C
    • Opening lift min. 7 mm
  23. Rear coolant pipe
  24. From cooler for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)
  25. To heat exchanger
  26. Coolant pump
    • Check for ease of movement
    • Note installation position
    • Removing and installing COOLANT PUMP .
  27. Oil cooler
