Cylinder Head Overview

NOTE:
When installing a replacement cylinder head, all of the contact surfaces between the supports, roller rocker arms and cam running surfaces on the camshaft must be lubricated before installing the cylinder head cover.
The plastic protectors installed to protect the open valves must only be removed immediately before installing the cylinder head.
Replace the cylinder head bolts.
If the cylinder head is going to be replaced, then it is also necessary to replace all the coolant.

- Replace if damaged or leaking.
- Crankcase Ventilation Valve
- Cap

- Replace if damaged or leaking.

- Cylinder Head Cover Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking.
- Vacuum Pump
- Bolt
- 4 Nm
- Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205-
- Removing and installing, refer to Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205- .
- Seal
- Always replace.
- Bolt
- 10 Nm
- Wire Bracket
- Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking.
- Bolt
- 10 Nm
- Housing
- Gasket
- Always replace.
- Transport Strap
- Bolt

- Stud Bolt

- For the intake manifold.
- Partition Plate
- Cylinder Head Gasket
- Always replace.
- Note the installed position: The part number faces the cylinder head.

- Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-

- For the toothed belt tensioner.
- Stud Bolt
- 20 Nm
- For the exhaust manifold.
- Bolt
- 40 Nm + 180° (1/2) additional turn.
- Always replace.
- Follow the loosening/tightening sequence. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD .
Checking the Cylinder Head for Distortion:
-- Check the cylinder head at multiple points for distortion using a straight edge 500 mm -VAS 6075- and feeler gauges.

- Maximum permissible distortion: 0.1 mm
-- Replace the cylinder head if the maximum distortion is exceeded.
