Bevel Box Output Flange Seal: Notes

- 2 arm puller Kukko 20/10
- Three arm puller Kukko 45-2
- Slide hammer-complete set VW 771
- Pulling hook VW 771/37
- Used oil collection and extraction device VAG 1782
- 2 M10 x 30 bolts
- 4 M12 x 10 nuts
Procedure
Bevel box output flange seal can only be replaced with the bevel box removed.
-- Remove the bevel box. Refer to BEVEL BOX .
-- Set the bevel box on hole -arrow- designated with the number -4- in the T10108.
A - Place 4 M12 x 10 nuts -A- between the bevel box and transmission holder.
-- Align the bevel box with the remaining 3 holes and secure it.
-- Place the VAG 1782 underneath.
-- Drain the oil from the bevel box.
-- Secure the bevel box output flange with the T10108/1 by installing the M10 x 30 bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the output flange nut.
A - 36 mm 3/4 inch drive socket
-- Move the bevel box so that the output flange faces upward.
-- Remove the output shaft from the bevel box.
A - Three-arm puller, for example, Kukko 45-2
When removing the output shaft, the inner race/tapered roller bearing remains on the output shaft and must be removed from it. Refer to REMOVE TAPER ROLLER BEARING INNER RACE FROM OUTPUT SHAFT USING TAPER ROLLER BEARING PULLER .
