Toothed Belt Assembly Overview, Without Divided Toothed Belt Guard

NOTE:
Vehicles from 01.2006 have a new toothed belt guard. Identification: The upper toothed belt guard does not have cover -item 25- and the guard is divided in the engine mount bracket area. - Bolt, 10 Nm
- Upper Toothed Belt Guard
- Bolt, 50 Nm + 180° (1/2) additional turn
- Always replace.
- Use the retainer 3036 to loosen and tighten.
- Camshaft Gear
- Installed position secured by woodruff key.
- Bolt, 10 Nm
- Install with locking fluid AMV 185 101 A1.
- Upper Rear Toothed Belt Guard
- Woodruff Key
- Check for secure seating.
- Nut, 25 Nm
- Semi Automatic Tensioner Roller
- Coolant Pump
- Removing and installing, refer to COOLANT PUMP .
- O-ring
- Always replace
- Bolt, 25 Nm
- Damper Roller
- Bolt, 15 Nm
- Bolt, 35 Nm
- Damper Roller
- Sealing Flange
- Diamond Disc
- Always replace.
- Crankshaft Toothed Belt Gear
- There must be no oil on the contact surface between the toothed belt sprocket, diamond disc and crankshaft.
- Only possible to install in one position
- Bolt, 90 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn
- Always replace
- Do not lubricate.
- Use the counter support 3415 to loosen and tighten.
- Toothed Belt
- Before removing, mark the direction of rotation using chalk or a felt tip marker.
- Check for wear
- Lower Rear Toothed Belt Guard
- Engine Mount Bracket
- Bolt, 45 Nm
- Toothed Belt Guard Cover
