Hood, assembly overview from 03.98 and on

- Hood
- Removing
  - Remove windshield washer system cables/hoses and washer nozzles.
  - Disconnect gas filled strut - 2 - at hood.
  - Remove bolts - 8 - and take off hood.
- Adjusting:
  - Align hood -1- between fenders by moving hood hinges.
  - Adjust hood height relative to fenders with rubber stop - 4 -.
- Gaps/mating lines.
- After reinstalling or adjusting apply corrosion protection to hinges and bolts
- Gas-filled strut
- Removing and installing, refer to GAS STRUT, REMOVING .
- Releasing gas, refer to RELEASING GAS FROM STRUT .
- Lock carrier seal
- Rubber stop
- Adjust hood height relative to fenders with rubber stop - 4 -.
- Guide piece
- Plenum chamber seal
- Pushed onto flange
- Washer nozzle
- Removing

- 23 N.m (17 ft lb)
