Releasing gas from strut

Clamp gas strut in vice in area shown x, dimension x = 50 mm (1.97 in.).

WARNING:
- Gas strut must only be clamped in designed area -x-, otherwise there is danger of an accident!
- Always wear eye protection when performing this procedure.
- Cover cutting area and contain any oil spray/waste, and follow all local codes regarding disposal of waste material.
Cut through gas strut within first third of cylinder's length using piston rod end of cylinder as reference point.

NOTE:

Protective goggles must be worn when cutting
Cover cut area with a cloth.
Dispose of oil and cloth according to local laws.
