Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
Pry out interior light using screwdriver and disconnect harness connectors.

Remove cable drive cover, and on sunroof pull out beading (vehicles with sunroof only).

Sun visor -1- and sun visor mount -2- (turn sun visor mount through 90 to remove) remove screws (arrows) (if installed, disconnect connector).

Remove upper B-pillar trim. See Golf 2-door, GTI or GOLF 4-DOOR, JETTA .
Remove upper A-pillar trim. See A-pillar trim, upper, removing and installing .
Remove upper C-pillar trim. See Golf, GTI or JETTA .
Pull trim strip off, -1- securing clip
