Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Removal And Installation/Replacement
Mobile Repair Possible: Van/Car
Removal Procedure:
- Remove instrument panel outer trim cover. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL OUTER TRIM COVER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Remove front floor console. Refer to FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Remove Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (Driver). Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM PLATE APPLIQUE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT (DRIVER)
- Remove 2 screws (1).
Torque: 2 Nm
- Unclip the instrument panel knee bolster (1) from the instrument panel in direction of the arrows.
- Unlock and disconnect both electrical connectors (1).
- Remove the instrument panel knee bolster (2).
Replacement Procedure:
- Rebuild Electric Park Brake Switch. Refer to ELECTRIC PARK BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Rebuild Electronic Park Brake Switch Bezel. Refer to ELECTRONIC PARK BRAKE SWITCH BEZEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Rebuild Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL FUSE BLOCK ACCESS HOLE COVER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Rebuild In Car Temperature Sensor and Solar Sensor. Refer to IN CAR TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND SOLAR SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
Installation Procedure:
Installation note: Check latching lugs for damage. If necessary, replace instrument panel knee bolster.
Installation note: Check clips (1) for damage. If necessary, replace damaged clips (1).
- Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the following. All fasteners must be tightened to torque specification!
- Install front floor console. Refer to FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
- Remove Instrument Panel Trim Plate Applique (Driver). Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM PLATE APPLIQUE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT (DRIVER)
- Install instrument panel outer trim cover. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL OUTER TRIM COVER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
