Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [02/2024 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  8. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  9. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  10. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:
    • When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
      2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
        WARNING:
        • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
        • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      1. Remove the 4 bolts.
      2. Detach the hook to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
      3. Disconnect the airbag connector.
        NOTE:

        When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        HINT:
