1. Remove the manual transmission filler plug and gasket from the manual transmission case.

2. Remove the manual transmission drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transaxle oil.

3. Install a new gasket and the manual transmission drain plug to the manual transmission case.

   Torque: 39.2 N.m (400 kgf/cm, 29 ft.lbf) 

1. Add manual transaxle oil until the oil level is between 0 and 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the manual transmission filler plug opening.

   *a	0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.197 in.)

   Manual Transaxle Oil

   "Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV" or "API GL-4 and SAE 75W"

   Standard Capacity

   1.5 liters (1.6 US qts, 1.3 Imp. qts)

2. Install a new gasket and the manual transmission filler plug to the manual transmission case.

   Torque: 39.2 N.m (400 kgf/cm, 29 ft.lbf) 

   NOTE:

   • When adding manual transaxle oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.
   • An excessively large or small amount of manual transaxle oil may cause problems.
   • After adding manual transaxle oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.
