Removal [09/2016 - 05/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2016 - ] 

    WARNING:
    • Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2016 - 05/2019]

    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2016 - ] 

  4. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2016 - 05/2019] 

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 6 clips as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the instrument panel finish panel end LH as shown in the illustration.

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and claw as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
    2. Disconnect each connector to remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly.
  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

  8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <F>.

    2. Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.

  10. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the screw <C>.

    3. Disconnect each connector to remove the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly.
  12. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

  14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 6 clips as shown in the illustration.

      1. Remove the air conditioning control assembly from center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly and then disengage the clamp as shown in the illustration.

    5. While pushing the tabs of the front pillar garnish clip as shown in the illustration, remove the center instrument cluster finish panel upper.

      NOTE:
      • The front pillar garnish clip is reusable if it is not damaged.
      • If the front pillar garnish clip is damaged, replace it with a new one.

      HINT: 

      When the front pillar garnish clip cannot be disengaged easily:

      1. While pushing the tab of the front pillar garnish clip shown in the illustration with your finger, move the front pillar garnish clip in the direction shown in the illustration.

      2. While pulling the front pillar garnish clip as shown in the illustration, push the tab of the front pillar garnish clip shown in the illustration with a screwdriver and disengage the front pillar garnish clip.

    7. Disengage the clamp to remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly with navigation receiver assembly.
  18. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for 7 Inch Display) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  21. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect the connector to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  22. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw to disconnect the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

      *1 Glove Compartment Door Stopper Sub-assembly
    2. Slightly bend the stoppers (A) and (B) in the directions indicated by the arrows shown in the illustration and open the glove compartment door assembly until the stoppers are released.
    3. Open the glove compartment door assembly to approximately 64.2° from its closed position. Pull it horizontally as shown in the illustration to disengage the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door assembly.

      NOTE:

      Pulling the glove compartment door assembly upward when removing it will cause the hinges to deform. Be sure to pull out the glove compartment door assembly horizontally.

  23. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw to remove the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

    1. Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips to disconnect the lower instrument cover sub-assembly from the upper steering column cover.

      Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor as shown in the illustration.

      4. Remove the 2 bolts <A>, 4 bolts <B>, 3 screws <C> or <G> and screw <D> and remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.
        • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.
    4. for 11.6 Inch Display:
      1. Disconnect each connector.
