Removal [09/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [06/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [10/2020 - ]

  5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the hood lock nut cap.

      *a Protective Tape
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock bolt.

      *1 Hood Lock Bolt
    4. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [09/2019 - 03/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2020 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [08/2021 - ]

  7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2019 - 03/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [03/2020 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2021 - ]

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [06/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [10/2020 - ]

  9. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [06/2017 - 10/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [10/2020 - ]

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 clamps and grommet as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly - -
      *a Clamp *b Grommet

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment to remove it.
