Removal [02/2017 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [10/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PRECAUTION [09/2019 - 08/2020]

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PRECAUTION [05/2018 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 2

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If an SRS part is accidentally deployed, it may cause a serious injury.
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 3 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 3 [10/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 3 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  4. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 4 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 4 [10/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 4 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  5. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 5 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 5 [10/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 5 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 6 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 6 [10/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 6 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 14 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 15 [10/2017 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 15 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  8. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR 
    1. Check that the ignition switch off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Remove the nut and disengage the claw to separate the door side airbag sensor.

    4. Disconnect the connector to remove the door side airbag sensor.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

        *a White Housing Lock *b Yellow CPA
        *c Connector lock is released - -
      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    5. Check that the position of the white housing lock is as shown in the illustration.
