Disassembly [08/2021 -]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER (for HV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    for A25A-FKS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    for A25A-FXS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    for 2GR-FKS:

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR ARMREST COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door armrest cover sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM ASSEMBLY COVER 
    1. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to remove the rear door trim assembly cover.

  6. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR UPPER ARMREST BASE PANEL 
    1. Apply protective tape to the rear door trim board sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect the connector to remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door upper armrest base panel.
  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Disengage the 8 clips as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disengage the 6 claws and guide as shown in the illustration.

    4. Disconnect the rear door lock open lever remote control cable and rear door inside lock/unlock knob locking cable as shown in the illustration.

    5. Disconnect the connector to remove the rear door trim board sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door inside handle sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR SPEAKER GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rear door speaker grille sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BODY BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and rear door trim body bracket.

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM COVER

  14. REMOVE REAR DOOR ORNAMENT

  16. REMOVE REAR DOOR NO. 1 TRIM BRACKET 
    1. Remove the screw and rear door No. 1 trim bracket.

  17. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

  18. REMOVE REAR DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the rear door inner glass weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

    1. Disengage the clip and disconnect the rear door weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 21 clips and remove the rear door weatherstrip.

  26. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR GUIDE SEAL 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Remove the rear door rear guide seal as shown in the illustration.

  27. REMOVE REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hole plug.

    2. Connect the rear power window regulator switch assembly.
    3. for Gasoline Model:
      1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    4. for HV Model:
      1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    5. for Gasoline Model:
      1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    6. for HV Model:
      1. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    7. Move the rear door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
    8. for Gasoline Model:
      1. Turn the engine switch off.
    9. for HV Model:
      1. Turn the power switch off.
    10. for Gasoline Model:
      1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    11. for HV Model:
      1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    12. Disconnect the rear power window regulator switch assembly.
    13. Remove the 2 bolts.

      NOTE:

      After the bolts are removed, do not allow the rear door glass sub-assembly to fall.

    14. Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

  28. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear door No. 3 service hole cover.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

      *a Temporary Bolt
    3. Loosen the temporary bolt.
      NOTE:

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator assembly may fall and cause damage.

    4. Remove the 5 bolts and rear door window regulator assembly.
    5. Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window regulator assembly.
  29. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  30. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and move the lever as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the rear door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

  31. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER 
    1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw.

      HINT: 

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

    2. Disengage the claw to remove the rear door outside handle cover.
  32. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the rear door front outside handle pad.
