Adjustment [06/2015 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
- Completely release the parking brake pedal.
- Fully depress the parking brake pedal to engage the parking brake.
- Depress the parking brake pedal again to disengage the parking brake.
- Slowly depress the parking brake pedal using the specified force, and count the number of clicks.
Parking Brake Pedal Travel
7 to 10 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.4 lbf)
If the parking brake pedal travel is not as specified, adjust the parking brake shoe clearance and parking brake pedal travel.
- ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
- Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [06/2015 - 01/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [01/2018 - 11/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [11/2018 - ]
- Completely release the parking brake pedal.
- Loosen the lock nut and No. 1 wire adjusting nut to completely release the parking brake cable.
*1 No. 1 Wire Adjusting Nut *2 Lock Nut - Remove the rear wheels.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- Temporarily install the hub nuts to the hub bolts.
HINT:
Securely install the hub nuts to the rear disc.
- Remove the parking brake shoes adjusting hole plug.
- Turn the parking brake shoe adjuster and expand the shoes until the disc locks.
Expand Contract - Turn and contract the parking brake shoe adjuster until the rear disc can rotate smoothly.
Standard
Returns 8 notches.
- Check that there is no brake drag against the shoe.
- Operate the parking brake pedal 3 to 4 times.
- Turn the No. 1 wire adjusting nut until the parking brake pedal travel is corrected to be within the specified range.
Parking Brake Pedal Travel
7 to 10 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.4 lbf)
- Using a wrench or an equivalent tool, hold the No. 1 wire adjusting nut and tighten the lock nut.
Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf)
- Operate the parking brake pedal 3 to 4 times, and check the parking brake pedal travel.
Parking Brake Pedal Travel
7 to 10 notches at 300 N (31 kgf, 67.4 lbf)
- Install the parking brake shoe adjusting hole plug.
- Check that the parking brake does not drag.
- Remove the hub nuts from the hub bolts.
- Install the rear wheels.

- Install the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

- Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
- INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
- When operating the parking brake pedal, check that the brake warning light illuminates.
Standard
The brake warning light always illuminates at the first click.
