Installation [08/2017 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the steering column with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 16 ft.lbf) 

    2. Connect the connectors and wire harness clamps.
    3. Install the earth wire with bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft and power steering gear.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft and No. 2 steering intermediate shaft.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

    3. Align the matchmarks on the steering column and steering intermediate shaft.

    4. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

    5. Install the 3 bolts and nut.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf/cm, 44 in.lbf) 

  4. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 3 air duct sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

  5. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 

    Refer to

    PROCEDURE - Step 46 [08/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to

    PROCEDURE - Step 47 [08/2018 - 08/2019]

  7. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to

    PROCEDURE - Step 44 [08/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to

    PROCEDURE - Step 45 [08/2018 - 08/2019]

  8. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 45

  10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 47

  11. INSTALL COMBINATION SWITCH WITH SPIRAL CABLE 

    See step  11

  12. INSTALL TILT AND TELESCOPIC MANUAL SWITCH 
    1. Attach the claw to install the tilt and telescopic switch.

    2. Connect the connector.
  13. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    See step  12

  14. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

  15. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  16. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    See step  5

  17. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  18. INSTALL STEERING PAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  19. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  20. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  21. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to

    INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to

    INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 08/2019] ).

  22. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    (Refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2017 - 08/2019] )

  23. CUSTOMIZE INFORMATION 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Utility / Customize Setting / Tilt & Telescopic.
    5. Turn the auto away/return function ON.
