Removal [06/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER (for RH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector from the parking brake actuator assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Remove any dirt or foreign matter on and around the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector before performing this step.
      • Do not allow water, oil or dirt to enter the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disconnect the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      *a Protective Tape
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the rear axle hub and bearing assembly or connector cover.

    3. Remove the nut, disengage the 2 clamps and separate the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly from the rear flexible hose bracket and rear trailing arm assembly.

  5. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE 
    1. Remove the bolt and separate the rear flexible hose from the rear flexible hose bracket.

  6. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. REMOVE REAR DISC 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  8. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  9. REMOVE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt and rear flexible hose bracket from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  11. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [06/2017 - 03/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2020 - 10/2020]

  12. REMOVE REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [06/2017 - 03/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [03/2020 - 10/2020]

  13. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2017 - 03/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [03/2020 - 10/2020]

  14. REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen the 2 bolts of the rear trailing arm assembly.

    2. Loosen the nut of the rear shock absorber assembly.
      NOTE:

      Hold the rear axle carrier pin while rotating the nut.

      *1 Rear Axle Carrier Pin
    3. Using a jack and a wooden block, support the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
      NOTE:
      • When jacking up the rear axle carrier sub-assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.
      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

    4. Loosen the bolt (A).
      NOTE:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear trailing arm assembly from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
    6. Remove the nut and plate washer, and separate the rear shock absorber assembly from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Hold the rear axle carrier pin while rotating the nut.

    7. Remove the bolt (A), nut and rear axle carrier sub-assembly from the rear upper control arm assembly.
      NOTE:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.
