Removal [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH 

    See step  3

  5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  6. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust pipe support.
    3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
  7. REMOVE HEATER COVER

    1. Disengage the clamp.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and heater cover from the water hose bracket and vehicle body.
  8. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 
    1. Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 heater water hoses from the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and disconnect the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the 5 exhaust pipe supports.

    4. Remove the gasket from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
  9. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly from the front exhaust pipe assembly and exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
  11. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
    3. Loosen the bolt (A).

    4. Remove the 2 bolts (B) and exhaust pipe support bracket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
    5. Remove the 2 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst).
    6. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
  12. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
