Removal [11/2015 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2015 - ] ).
NOTE:After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2015 - 06/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [06/2017 - ] ).
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
(Refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - 06/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [06/2017 - ] )
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Check that the ignition switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Slide the 2 sliders to release the locks, and then disconnect the 2 connectors.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*a Slider NOTE:When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15
- REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- Disengage the clamp from the upper instrument panel assembly.
- Disengage the clamp to separate the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Lean the upper instrument panel assembly and disengage the 3 hooks.
- Disengage the 3 hooks to remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly from the upper instrument panel assembly.
- Disengage the clamp from the upper instrument panel assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the vent hole connector lock.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Protective Tape *2 Vent Hole Connector *3 Vent Hole Connector Lock - Disconnect the vent hole connector from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Protective Tape *2 Airbag Connector *3 Airbag Connector Lock - Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the vent hole connector lock.
