Removal [06/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2015 - ] 

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2017 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [06/2017 - ]

  4. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 13 clips.

      *a Clip A
      NOTE:

      To prevent the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly from being damaged, disengage the 4 clips (A), shown in the illustration, last.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips to remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 11 clips and 16 guides to remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  7. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips to remove the center instrument panel register assembly.

  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 4 claws and 9 guides to remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
  11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    See step  7

  12. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.
  13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  15. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/ Navigation System:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt <A>.

      *a Bolt <A> *b Screw <C>
    3. Remove the screw <C>.
    4. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
    5. Pull the upper instrument panel assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) to disengage the 7 clips.

    6. Pull the upper instrument panel assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel assembly.
