DTC P2511-149: HV CPU Power Relay Sense Circuit Intermittent No Continuity [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Confirm whether the auxiliary battery terminals have been disconnected recently.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Terminals have been disconnected.
      Terminals have not been disconnected.

    Result:  2

    Terminals have not been disconnected.

    Result:  1

    Terminals have been disconnected. 

    See step  2

  2. CONFIRM MASTER WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Turn the power switch on (READY) from off.
    2. Confirm that the master warning light illuminates.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Master warning light illuminates.
      Master warning light does not illuminates.
      NOTE:

      DTC P2511-149 may be stored after disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery terminals. If this happens, the DTC will not be output if the power switch is turned off and then on (READY) again. In this case, clear DTCs to complete the inspection.

    3. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    Master warning light does not illuminates. 

    END 

    Result:  1

    Master warning light illuminates.

  3. CLEAR DTC 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    Result

    Proceed to
    NEXT

    Result:  1

    NEXT

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      DTC P2511-149 is output again.
      DTCs other than P2511-149 are also output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    DTCs other than P2511-149 are also output. 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2015]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    DTC P2511-149 is output again.

  5. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (CONTACT PROBLEM) 
    1. Check the connection of the auxiliary battery terminal.

      OK

      The terminal is connected securely and there is no contact problem.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    CONNECT SECURELY 

    Result:  1

    OK

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result:  3

    NG 

    CONNECT SECURELY 

    Result:  1

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - IGCT RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the A60 and A61 power management control ECU connectors.
    2. Remove the IGCT relay from the No. 3 engine room relay block.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A61-3 (+B1) - 5 (IGCT relay) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A60-1 (+B2) - 5 (IGCT relay) Power switch off Below 1 Ω
    4. Install the IGCT relay.
    5. Reconnect the A60 and A61 power management control ECU connectors.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  8. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
    1. Check for intermittent problems.

      Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [02/2014 - ]

      1. Check the connection and terminal contact pressure of the connectors and wire harnesses between the power management control ECU and the No. 3 engine room relay block.
      2. When the power switch is on (READY), jiggle the connectors and wire harnesses between the power management control ECU and the No. 3 engine room relay block.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Problem symptom does not recur.
      Problem symptom recurs.

    Result:  1

    Problem symptom does not recur. 

    REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  2

    Problem symptom recurs.
