DTC P3107-215: Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output.
      Airbag system DTCs are output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    Airbag system DTCs are output. 

    GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  1

    Airbag system DTCs are not output.

  2. CLEAR DTC 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    Result

    Proceed to
    NEXT

    Result:  1

    NEXT

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      P3107-215 is not output.
      P3107-215 is output again.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    P3107-215 is output again.

    Result:  1

    P3107-215 is not output.

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [02/2014 - ]

    OK 

    REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [02/2014 - ] 

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

  5. CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM) 

    See step  2

    The waveform differs from the one shown in the illustration.

    Result:  1

    The waveform appears as shown in the illustration. 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [11/2016 - ] 

    Result:  2

    The waveform differs from the one shown in the illustration.

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
