Oil Pump: Removal

REMOVE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the engine and transmission (see REMOVAL )
REMOVE TIMING BELT
1. Remove the timing belt (see REMOVAL ).
REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY (See DISASSEMBLY )
REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK GUIDE
1. Remove the bolt and dipstick guide.
2. Pull out the dipstick guide together with the dipstick from the No. 1 oil pan.
3. Pull the O-ring from the dipstick guide.

REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.
2. Disconnect the oil cooler hose from the oil cooler.
3. Remove the 2 bolts, nut, compressor stay, oil cooler and filter bracket assembly.
4. Remove the gasket from the filter bracket.
REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 20 bolts and 2 nuts.
2. Insert the blade of SST between the No. 1 and No. 2 oil pans, cut off applied sealer and remove the No. 2 oil pan.
  SST 09032-00100
  
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pans.

REMOVE OIL PAN BAFFLE PLATE
1. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and baffle plate.

REMOVE NO. 1 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 18 bolts, 2 nuts and oil pan.

2. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pan by prying the areas between the cylinder block and oil pan shown in Fig 5 .
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and oil pan.

REMOVE OIL STRAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, oil strainer and gasket.

REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 8 bolts.
  HINT:
  
  Use a 6 mm hexagon wrench for the hexagon head bolt.

2. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pump by prying the areas between the oil pump and cylinder block shown in Fig 8 .
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the contact surface of the cylinder block and oil pump.
3. Remove the O-ring from the cylinder block.
