Combination Meter: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment (See PRECAUTION ).
  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH 
    1. Remove the screw and the bolt.
    2. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly.
    3. Disengage the claw and the 9 clips.
    4. Remove the air hose, disconnect the connector, and then remove the lower instrument panel finish panel LH.

  5. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the right and remove the screw as shown in the illustration.

    2. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the left and remove the screw as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the steering column cover lower.

    4. Disengage the claw and remove the steering column cover upper.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/o Smart Key System)  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/ Smart Key System)  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. Remove the 2 clips.
    2. Disengage the guide and the 4 claws, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

  10. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using the tilt and telescopic functions, fully lower and extend the steering wheel.
    2. Remove the 4 screws.

    3. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
    4. Disengage the wire harness from the combination meter assembly.

    5. Remove the combination meter assembly as shown in the illustration.
