Front Stabilizer Bar: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    (See AIRBAG SYSTEM )

  2. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS 
  4. REMOVE ENGINE NO.2 UNDER COVER  (See REMOVAL )
  5. SEPARATE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  6. SEPARATE TIE ROD  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  7. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and the front stabilizer link assembly LH.

      HINT:

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a hexagon wrench (6 mm) to hold the stud.

  8. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and the front stabilizer link assembly RH.

      HINT:

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a hexagon wrench (6 mm) to hold the stud.

  9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the front stabilizer bracket No. 1 LH from the front frame assembly.

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the front stabilizer bracket No. 1 RH from the front frame assembly.
  11. REMOVE FRONT NO.2 STABILIZER BRACKET LH 
    1. Remove the front stabilizer bracket No.2 LH from the front stabilizer bar bushing No. 1.
  12. REMOVE FRONT NO.2 STABILIZER BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the front stabilizer bracket No.2 RH from the front stabilizer bar bushing No. 1.
  13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BAR BUSHING 
    1. Remove the 2 front stabilizer bar bushings No. 1 from the front stabilizer bar.
  14. REMOVE FRONT NO.3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  15. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY 
    1. Remove the bolt, nut and the manifold stay.

  17. REMOVE POWER STEERING LINK  (See DISASSEMBLY )
  18. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR 
    1. Remove the front stabilizer bar from the right side of the vehicle.
