Instrument Panel Safety Pad: Removal
- BOLT, SCREW AND NUT TABLE
HINT:
The bolts, screws and nuts necessary for installation and removal of the instrument panel, are illustrated below and alphabetically coded.
- REMOVE CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait for the 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working (See PRECAUTION ).
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL NO. 2 COVER LOWER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL NO. 3 COVER LOWER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING PAD (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER UPPER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE WIPER SWITCH (See INSPECTION )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
- While lightly pushing down on the positions shown in the illustration with your fingers, insert the moulding remover and release the clips on the lower part of the instrument panel sub-assembly center.
HINT:
Tape the moulding remover tip before use.
- Pull the instrument panel sub-assembly center toward the rear of the vehicle to release the clips on the upper part of the panel and remove the sub-assembly.
- While lightly pushing down on the positions shown in the illustration with your fingers, insert the moulding remover and release the clips on the lower part of the instrument panel sub-assembly center.
- REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System) (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) (See MULTI-DISPLAY )
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER
- Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 clips.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument panel finish panel lower.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY
- Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
HINT:
Tape the moulding remover tip before use.
- Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH
- Remove the 4 screws < G >.
- Disengage the claw and remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 3 screws < G > and pull the combination meter assembly.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER
- Remove the 2 bolts < B >.
- Disengage the 3 clips.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly lower.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL INSERT SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER LH
- Remove the 3 bolts < C > and the instrument panel insert sub-assembly lower LH.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY CENTER
- Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and the 2 claws.
HINT:
Tape the moulding remover tip before use.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly center.
HINT:
Set the shift lever in the N position.
- Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and the 2 claws.
- REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH
- Remove the 2 clips and the floor carpet cover center LH.
- REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT SEAT ARMREST ASSEMBLY CENTER
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the seat armrest cover LH.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the bolt and front seat armrest assembly center.
- Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the seat armrest cover LH.
- REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
- Cover the parts indicated in the illustration with protective tape to prevent them from being damaged.
- Remove the 3 screws < G >.
- Remove the 2 console caps and the 2 screws < l >.
- Remove the 2 bolts < D >.
- Pull the console box assembly toward the rear of the vehicle, disengage the 2 clips, and remove the console box assembly.NOTE: Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad when removing the console box assembly.
- REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
- Remove the glove compartment door damper clip.
- Remove the 2 clips and the glove compartment door assembly.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 FINISH PANEL LOWER
- Remove the 7 screws < G > and the instrument panel No. 2 finish panel lower.
- DISCONNECT FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
- Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.
- REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect each of the clamps and the connectors, and remove the bolt.
- Remove the 7 bolts < A >, < E >, < F > and the nut < J >.
- Disengage the 3 pins and remove the instrument panel sub-assembly.
