Rear Suspension Arm ASSY No. 1: Replacement

Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

REMOVE REAR WHEEL
REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSY CENTER (SEE REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE STABILIZER BAR REAR (SEE REPLACEMENT )
REMOVE STRUT ROD ASSY REAR (SEE REPLACEMENT )
SEPARATE HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY REAR RH (w/DISCHARGE HEAD LIGHT)
1. The height control sensor sub-assy rear (w/discharge heard light) is on the RH side only. Remove the nut, and separate the height control sensor sub-assy rear RH.

SEPARATE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 2 LH
1. Remove the bolt, nut and the rear suspension arm No. 2 (outer side) from the rear axle carrier.
  NOTE: When removing the bolt, keep the nut from rotating.

SEPARATE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 2 RH
HINT:

Separate the RH side using the same procedures as for the LH side.
SEPARATE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 LH
1. Remove the bolt, nut and the rear suspension arm No. 1 (outer side) from the rear axle carrier.
  NOTE: When removing the bolt, keep the nut from rotating.

SEPARATE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 RH
HINT:

Separate the RH side using the same procedures as for the LH side.
REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSY
1. Support the rear suspension member with a jack.
2. Remove the 4 nuts, 2 bolts and 4 retainers from the rear suspension member.
3. Lower the rear suspension member.

REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 LH
1. Remove the bolt and rear suspension arm No. 1.

INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 LH
1. Install the rear suspension arm No. 1 with the bolt, and temporarily tighten the bolt.

  HINT:
  - Install the rear suspension arm No. 1 so that the bracket leans toward the front side of the vehicle, as shown in the illustration.
  - Ensure that the paint mark faces the rear side of the vehicle.

2. Set the rear suspension arm No. 1 in the position shown in the illustration, and fully tighten the bolt.
  Torque: 100 N.m (1,020 kgf.cm, 74 ft.lbf)

INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSY
1. Raise the rear suspension member with a jack.
2. Install the rear suspension member with the 4 nuts, 2 bolts and 4 retainers.
  Torque:
  
  A, B: 55 N.m (561 kgf.cm, 41 ft.lbf)
  
  C: 38 N.m (387 kgf.cm, 28 ft.lbf)

TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 LH
1. Connect the rear suspension arm No. 1 (outer side) to the rear axle carrier with the bolt and nut and temporarily tighten the bolt and nut.
  HINT:
  
  Insert the bolt from the front side of the vehicle and temporarily install it.

TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 RH
HINT:

Temporarily tighten the RH side using the same procedures as for the LH side.
TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 2 LH
1. Connect the rear suspension arm No. 2 (outer side) to the rear axle carrier with the bolt and nut and temporarily tighten the bolt.
  HINT:
  
  Insert the bolt from the rear side of the vehicle and temporarily install it.

TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 2 RH
HINT:

Temporarily tighten the RH side using the same procedures as for the LH side.
TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN STRUT ROD ASSY REAR (SEE REPLACEMENT )
STABILIZE SUSPENSION
1. Jack up the rear axle carrier, placing a wooden block to avoid damage. Apply a load to the suspension so that the installed bolt of the suspension arm assy No. 1 (inner side of the vehicle) is horizontally aligned with the center of the rear axle hub.

FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 LH
1. Fully tighten the bolt.
  Torque: 100 N.m (1,020 kgf.cm, 74 ft.lbf)
  
  NOTE: When installing the bolt, fix the nut and tighten the bolt.

FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 1 RH
HINT:

Fully tighten the RH side using the same procedures as for the LH side.
FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 2 LH
1. Fully tighten the bolt.
  Torque: 100 N.m (1,020 kgf.cm, 74 ft.lbf)
  
  NOTE: When installing the bolt, fix the nut and tighten the bolt.

FULLY TIGHTEN REAR SUSPENSION ARM ASSY NO. 2 RH
HINT:

Fully tighten the RH side using the same procedures as for the LH side.
FULLY TIGHTEN STRUT ROD ASSY REAR (SEE REPLACEMENT )
INSTALL STABILIZER BAR REAR (SEE REPLACEMENT )
INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSY REAR RH (w/DISCHARGE HEAD LIGHT)
1. Install the height control sensor sub-assy rear RH with the nut.
  Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

Torque: 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf)
INSPECT REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT (SEE ADJUSTMENT )
HEAD LIGHT AIMING ADJUSTMENT (w/DISCHARGE HEAD LIGHT) (SEE ADJUSTMENT )
