Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (TC TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
    1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (TC TERMINAL VOLTAGE)  .

      Standard:

DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (TC TERMINAL VOLTAGE) (1 OF 2)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
D20-13 (TC) - Body ground Ignition switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (TC TERMINAL VOLTAGE) (2 OF 2)  .

      Standard:

DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (TC TERMINAL VOLTAGE) (2 OF 2)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D20-4 (CG) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: Go to step   4
    2. OK: Go to next step.
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM TO DLC3)
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM TO DLC3  .

      Standard:

      ECM TO DLC3 (1 OF 2)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A24-23 (TC) - D20-13 (TC) Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM TO DLC3 (2 OF 2)  .

      Standard:

      ECM TO DLC3 (2 OF 2)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
D20-13 (TC) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TC TERMINAL CIRCUIT)
    2. OK: Go to next step.
  3. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
    1. Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR  ).

      Result:

      CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B
    1. B: REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE (SEE  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  )
    2. A: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )

    HINT:

If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the problem symptoms table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (see PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ).

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM TO DLC3)
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM TO DLC3 (1 OF 2)  .

      Standard:

      ECM TO DLC3 (1 OF 2)

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A24-23 (TC) - D20-13 (TC) Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in ECM TO DLC3 (2 OF 2)  .

      Standard:

      ECM TO DLC3 (2 OF 2)
